Not every celebration needs a function room built for hundreds of people. Lynworth Hall offers something smaller and more local, with space for up to 40 people and facilities that work particularly well for children's parties, family occasions and community activities.
You'll find the hall in Lynworth, just off the walkway linking Prestbury Road and Mendip Road. It has served this part of Cheltenham for more than 60 years, with restoration work helping the building continue its role as a useful neighbourhood venue.
Planning for 40 rather than 140
The main room, including its raised stage area, measures approximately 5.7m by 12.4m. With a maximum capacity of around 40 people including supervising adults, it's worth approaching your entertainment differently from a booking in a large sports hall.
Instead of trying to squeeze in as many attractions as possible, choose equipment appropriate to the number and ages of children attending. Our soft play can be particularly useful for toddler parties, while selected children's bouncy castles may suit other plans subject to the dimensions, height and requirements of the individual inflatable.
May arrives and the possibilities change
From May to September, Lynworth Hall's garden gives you another way to organise your event. Picnics and BBQs can move outside, children have additional room to play, and suitable outdoor bouncy castles can become an option when space, ground conditions and the weather allow.
You could keep food and seating inside while using the garden for active entertainment, or add garden games to create several smaller activities outside.
For any outdoor inflatable booking, safe anchoring and appropriate weather conditions are essential. Inflatables must not be operated when wind speeds or gusts exceed 24mph.
There's more here than one main room
Lynworth Hall also includes a stage, nursery room, kitchen, modern toilet facilities and disabled access. Those additional spaces can make a noticeable difference when you're organising a relatively compact event.
The nursery room, for example, may give you useful separation from the busier parts of the occasion, while the kitchen makes serving drinks, snacks and birthday food considerably easier. The stage can remain part of the room layout for presentations, entertainment or other activities depending on your plans.
Match the equipment to the children
A party for preschool children doesn't require the same setup as one for seven or eight-year-olds. For little ones, you might concentrate on soft play and a ball pool. Older children may be more interested in bouncing, racing or competitive games.
